hold a public meeting to solicit public comment and encourage public
participation in the development of the draft verified list of impaired waters
for water bodies and water segments within the

Administrative Weekly notice for this meeting was published on February 22,

The draft verified list was placed on the Department’s TMDL website at http://www.dep.state.fl.us/water/tmdl/verified_gp1-2.htm
on February 22, 2008, and will be provided upon request to interested parties
by mail or via e-mail distribution. The Department will accept written comments
on the draft verified lists and revised draft lists for a period of 30 days,

International Conference on Mining Impacts to the
Human and Natural Environments
The conference will
focus on adverse impacts not being addressed or evaluated by the regulatory
agencies and municipalities, as well as various means of improving monitoring
inadequacies and inaccuracies.
Conference topics
include: human health, quality of life and economic impacts; impacts to aquatic
and terrestrial ecosystems and native soils; and improved monitoring
techniques. Presentations (30 minutes) and posters will summarize each
conference topic in morning and afternoon sessions. A panel discussion will be
provided at the end of the morning and afternoon sessions to facilitate
discussion between the speakers and audience members.
