Good Afternoon,

The next meeting of the SWF Watershed Council is scheduled for Thursday August 19th from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the Royal Palm Yacht Club, located at
2360 West First Street, Fort Myers 33901. Parking is available on the east side of the parking lot (side nearest McGregor Blvd.), but please do not
park in the "member" parking spaces.

Due to poor attendance projected for last month's meeting, we canceled our guest speaker and rescheduled the presentation for this month's meeting.

This month's Water Wisdom program will feature Kathie Ebaugh, AICP, Principal Planner for the Lee County Division of Planning. Kathie is a certified
planner with a Master's Degree in City and Regional Planning from Morgan State University and a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from Towson
University. During her 15 years of experience, she has focused on community planning, vision-based planning, and sustainable development. Kathie
will be discussing the County's New Horizon 2035 initiative.

The County is in the process of updating its Comprehensive Plan, the Lee Plan, to refine the community's vision of what Lee County should look like
through growth and land-use planning.  The update to the Lee Plan will begin with the state required Evaluation and Appraisal Report (EAR) process,
but will also encompass a broader visioning effort through 2035, dubbed New Horizon 2035. The result is intended to help create sustainable, self-
sufficient communities.

Please join us to learn more about New Horizon 2035 and how it might affect those of us living in Lee County. The WC Board of Directors will have a
lunch meeting from 12:00-1:45 p.m., just prior to the regular membership meeting.

I look forward to seeing you all at the meeting.

Have a great weekend,

James Evans, Chairman

Southwest Florida Watershed Council
