Collier & Lee County Water Restrictions

As part of our mission to manage water and related resources, the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) routinely monitors conditions and -- if warranted, a water shortage declaration is made. SFWMD has placed water restrictions year-round throughout Southwest Florida. The Collier and Lee County governments, as well as the city municipalities within each county, have the option to place additional restrictions.

There is a great deal of variation among these local rules, so please check the information below for your county or city. Local governments enforce these restrictions.

Unincorporated Collier County

Unincorporated Collier County PROHIBITS watering between the hours of 8:01 AM to MIDNIGHT, or on FRIDAYS. Residents can water up to three times a week. These water restrictions include all of unincorporated Collier County and those with private wells. These restrictions affect the following areas:

Chokoloskee
East Naples
Golden Gate
Goodland
Immokalee
Lely Resort
Lely Naples Manor
Naples Park
Orangetree
Pelican Bay
Pine Ridge
Plantation Island
Vineyards

Approved Watering Days:
Odd numbered addresses (1, 3, 5, 7, 9) – Mondays, Wednesdays and/or Saturdays
Even numbered addresses (0, 2, 4, 6, 8) or no address – Tuesdays, Thursday and/or Sundays.

Approved Watering Times:
12:01 a.m. to 8 a.m. only

No Watering Is Allowed:
Any day between 8:01 a.m. to Midnight,  and never on Fridays.

Unincorporated Lee County

Lee County has passed the Water Conservation Ordinance (05-10) that includes year-round water restrictions. These water restrictions include all of unincorporated Lee County and those with private wells. These restrictions affect the following areas:

Approved Watering Days:
Odd numbered addresses (1, 3, 5, 7, 9) – Wednesdays and/or Saturdays

Even numbered addresses (0, 2, 4, 6, 8) or no address – Thursday and/or Sundays.

Approved Watering Times:
Midnight to 9 a.m. or 5 p.m. to midnight.

No Watering Is Allowed:
Any day between 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and never on Mondays, Tuesdays, or Fridays

Please Note:
Violations can result in fines of $25.00 for the first violation, $100 for the second violation and up to $500.00 and/or more than 60 days in County jail for the third violation.

Residents of all other counties should follow the SouthWest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD) water restrictions, which restrict irrigation to TWO DAYS PER WEEK, before 10:00 a.m. or after 4:00 p.m.
