American Rivers CleanUp Week

Volunteer opportunity announcement

To all Board Members in Ft. Myers (and for those of you in LaBelle that want to come to the big city),

Our River Cleanup to commemorate American Rivers CleanUp Week will be held on Saturday, June 9 from 10 am - 12 noon.

We will meet at the southernmost end of the parking lot at Lee Memorial Hospital on Cleveland Ave. (US 41), which is directly across from Canal Street. Our task will be to pick up trash on the banks of Manuels Creek, which flows into the Caloosahatchee. We will be working on the north side (public side) and not walk on anyone's back yard. Some brave souls can cross US 41  and pick up trash off Canal St. and on the banks of the Creek. The sides are steep so wear boots or old shoes that  you don't mind getting wet.

The City of Ft. Myers will provide some equipment and a truck to haul away our trash bags. I will provide the water. Please bring gloves. Now, the important part.....I need between 10 and 15 volunteers. If you can volunteer, please let me know a.s.a.p.

Thank you.

Marti Daltry, CRCA Pres.
