To kick off the Great Calusa Blueways Festival the Midpoint Paddle Sprint has been scheduled for Saturday October 27, 2007!

 

This is a FCPA rankings race and will be held at Northshore Park in North Fort Myers. The start time, raffle prizes, pre-registration and other details are yet to be determined.  Betsy Clayton, our fearless Calusa Blueways rep will be updating the us on the Blueways website as more details become available. The event proceeds will go to the Caloosahatchee Riverwatch Citizens Association (CRCA). CRCA is a non-profit 501c3 dedicated to improving the River from its source to its mouth, including its impacts on riparian and estuarine systems, wildlife habitat, and marine life, promoting public education concerning the historical significance, present condition, and future of the River and its watershed, increasing public awareness of the importance of the the River to our quality of life, studying the effect of domestic, commercial, and agricultural uses of the River's resources, monitoring and working to improve the River's water quality, quantity, and flow characteristics, and observing and participating in the activities of public bodies responsible for the management of the River and its watershed.
